A.R.T. announces Luis Camnitzer as its 2022 Artist Honoree!

Luis Camnitzer, "Art History Lesson no.6," 2000.

A.rt R.esources T.ransfer is delighted to announce Luis Camnitzer as our eighth annual artist honoree.

In 2022, A.R.T. is celebrating Camnitzer by distributing over 25,000 free art books to 650 public libraries, schools, and prisons in his name. A.R.T. will also produce the online teaching guide "Reading Resources: Luis Camnitzer," sharing the artist’s methods and ideas among students and readers.

Throughout his decades-long, pioneering practice, Camnitzer has insistently investigated art-making as a strategy of pedagogy and problem-solving while interrogating political relations, such as those between periphery and center. His commitment to conceptual art and critical literacy has been a longstanding inspiration for A.R.T.'s work.

As A.R.T.'s 2022 honoree, Luis Camnitzer follows Walid Raad, Studio K.O.S., Kara Walker, Roni Horn, Lawrence Weiner, Glenn Ligon, and Martha Rosler.
