A.R.T. announces Reading Resources: Studio K.O.S.!
A.R.T. is thrilled to announce the launch of Reading Resources: Studio K.O.S.
Produced through a unique collaboration with the Walker Art Center, this educational guide is the fifth installment in our Reading Resources series. It accompanies the free art books the A.R.T. Library Program granted in the collective's name to public schools, libraries, and prisons nationwide in 2020.
At the core of this teaching guides is Studio K.O.S.'s distinctive method of "jamming"—the artist collective's process of producing artworks through collective readings of literary texts. This guide offers exercises that model "jamming" with works by Ralph Ellison, Martin Luther King Jr., and others, connecting educators to Studio K.O.S.'s transformative methods of collaborative learning.
Reading Resources: Studio K.O.S. was developed with Wendy Tronrud (A.R.T. Education Advisor) and with the generous support of the NYC Dept. of Cultural Affairs, the Wilhelm Family Foundation, and supporters such as yourself.
