A.rt R.esources T.ransfer is thrilled to announce Julie Ault as our tenth annual artist honoree.

In 2024, A.R.T. is honoring Julie Ault by distributing 25,000 free art books to 625 public libraries, schools, and prisons in her name. A.R.T. will also produce the online teaching guide "Reading Resources: Julie Ault," sharing her methods and ideas among students and readers.

Julie Ault's multi-disciplinary practice has consistently interrogated the question of how art-making and the retelling of history can effect social change. As a founding member of artist collective Group Material (1979–96), and across her subsequent collaborations and work as a writer and curator, Ault has innovated models of creative research, exhibition-making and publishing as artistic forms.

As A.R.T.'s 2024 honoree, Julie Ault follows Rirkrit Tiravanija, Luis Camnitzer, Walid Raad, Studio K.O.S., Kara Walker, Roni Horn, Lawrence Weiner, Glenn Ligon, and Martha Rosler.
