Freedom Ride is a Hank Willis Thomas collaboration with kids on exhibitions at KSMoCA and Portland Art Museum. The exhibition at KSMoCA includes artworks by Hank Willis Thomas, For Freedoms, and students at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School and features two bodies of work—political advocacy button slogans and the For Freedoms Digital Quilt. Freedom Ride ran concurrently with Hank Willis Thomas: All Things Being Equal... at Portland Art Museum where elementary students and participants from Harriet Tubman Middle School Center for Expanded Curatorial Practice worked with Hank Willis Thomas and PAM curators and staff. This publication documents the students' many contributions to these exhibitions both as coauthors of Freedom Ride at KSMoCA and as participants in All Things Being Equal... at PAM.
