Continuously published since 1977, Contact Sheet is one of the longest-running art photography publications in the world, published by the non-profit and artist-run organization Libraries, that provides direct support to artists working in photography and digital imaging. This edition features Intermissions, an exhibition and series of related programs highlighting the video and photographic art of Kansas City artist Barry Anderson. The artist's colorful video pieces include abstract patterns, nature scenes, and semi-nostalgic images from decade-old advertising, addressing our cultural need to escape the onslaught of media input through isolated fantasy worlds. By slowing down or re-interpreting space and time, Anderson strives to locate introspective spaces within the everyday, proposing that we simply re-envision what is already around us. Libraries's exhibition placed Anderson's video art and photographs at multiple venues across Syracuse, NY, making it accessible to and inviting more meaningful interaction within the general community. Libraries, 2009 10 x 9.25 inches, 48 pp., color illustrations Softcover, ISBN 0-935445-64-1
